Wine region Pfalz<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The German wine-growing region of Pfalz is located within the region of the same name in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The designation of origin “Pfalz” is used to produce quality and predicate wines, which are called Pfalzweine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Rheinhessen (about 257 km\u00b2), the Palatinate is Germany’s second-largest wine-growing region, with a cultivated area of a good 228 km\u00b2. About 3,600 wineries, less than half of them full-time, cultivate more than 100 million vines here and produce about 2.5 million hectoliters of wine annually. The percentage ratio of white and red grape varieties is about 60:40, although the cultivation of red grapes has slightly decreased again after an increase in the last decades.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
