Winery SCHEIBLHOFER, Andau<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scheiblhofer winery is located in Andau in the district of Neusiedl am See and, with 85 hectares of its own land, is one of the largest wineries in Burgenland. The winery, known for the noble red wine “Big John”, was built up by Johann Scheiblhofer and taken over by son Erich in 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the production of high-quality wines, the family business is characterized by modernity, innovation, sustainability and social competence. In 2017, Scheiblhofer therefore became the first winemaker in Austria to be awarded the “Leitbetriebe Austria” certificate. But that’s not all: In May 2017, the winery was named the best family business in Burgenland by the daily newspaper “Die Presse” together with Bankhaus Sp\u00e4ngler, BDO Austria and the Austrian Chamber of Notaries, as well as “Winery of the Year” in the 2019 “Best of Burgenland” wine awards of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture. In the previous year, Erich Scheiblhofer was then also named “Winemaker of the Year 2021” by Falstaff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheiblhofer is one of the pioneers in the field of sustainability and has been distinguished for years by its energy self-sufficient wine production. This is made possible by its own photovoltaic system, the largest privately operated in Burgenland. In spring 2020, a further expansion to a total of 668 kWp took place. In the future, employees will also be able to move around in an energy-efficient manner. For this reason, electric vehicles have already been purchased and a corresponding charging station has been set up. Situated in one of the most ideal wine locations in Austria and owning the most barrique barrels in the country, Scheiblhofer is considered an important employer in the region as well as a supporter and promoter of social projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winery is known as a place of well-being far beyond the local borders and with the just opened “The Resort”, a spa hotel of superlatives, there is now finally more space for the numerous visitors to the winery. Of course, the success of the winery does not come by chance: Only through the tireless efforts of all employees and the enormous cohesion of the family members is all this possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
