Winery KRUG, Gumpoldskirchen
The Krug Winery in Gumpoldskirchen has been in existence since 1746. 35 hectares of the best sites around Gumpoldskirchen with its clay and limestone soils and the climate of the thermal region produce wonderfully powerful and complex white and also red wines both with long aging and storage potential and for early drinking pleasure.
The vineyards are located on the climatically favored Thermenlinie. Due to the optimal conditions such as soil composition, climate and location of the individual vineyards, the Thermenregion offers the best conditions to produce great white and red wines.
The proportion of white wine here is 70 percent. The winery’s goal is to produce only quality wines. Only healthy and ripe grapes enter the press house. The most comfortable way to discover and taste the wines of Gustav Krug is at the family wine tavern, the so-called “Alte Zechhaus”, which is located directly at the Kirchenplatz.
