Winery TOPF- Kamptal
In the southern Kamptal, at the foot of the Gaisberg, you will find the traditional winery of the Topf family in the picturesque village of Straß im Straßertale. Here, where knowledge and passion have been passed down steadily for five generations, wines of unique signature and make are created. Hans Topf and his wife Magdalena work together with their sons Hans-Peter and Maximilian in harmony with man and nature.
Preserving tradition, passing on the learned craft and much care in the vineyards are daily practice here. Only due to the nature of the climate and soils in the individual sites is it possible to give each of the wines an expression of origin. The great potential and pride of the winemakers lie in the first sites Offenberg, Gaisberg, Wechselberg Spiegel and Heiligenstein. The wines from these special sites show the uniqueness and distinctiveness of the Kamptal terroir.

Preserving tradition, passing on the learned craft and much care in the vineyards are part of daily practice. Together with his sons, Hans Topf vinifies site and sparkling wines and brings them to market with perfect drinking maturity. The brothers Hans-Peter and Maximilian work in harmony with nature and complement their father’s portfolio with their own single-vineyard wines, which additionally bear their initials “M” and “HP”, respectively.
The great potential and pride of the winegrowing family are based on the first sites Offenberg, Gaisberg, Wechselberg Spiegel and Heiligenstein. Conglomerates of mica schist, paragneiss and arkoses as well as the influence of different microclimates are responsible for the uniqueness and distinctiveness of these sites. As a member of the Traditionsweingüter Österreich (Traditional Wine Estates Austria), the Topf family focuses on the experience of the site wines under the title “Making origin precious in the glass”.
